Next meeting:  Sunday, September 18, 2016, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Location: 1000 28th Avenue, Tuscaloosa
Topic:  Tablet Weaving
This style of weaving is also called card weaving (but not to be confused with cardboard weaving, which we have done at a previous meeting).
Bring tablets if you have any.  Bring non-fuzzy, smooth yarn, such as worsted-weight dishcloth cotton, in a few colors.  The guild has shuttles.
Contact Carol if you have any questions.

Last meeting:  Sunday, September 4, 2016

Topic:  Spinning Sunday
Tori took several pictures at the last meeting.

Other Tidbits:

The guild received an email from Sue Richardson with information that may interest you:
Earlier this year we launched a new website dedicated to the study of Asian textiles. It has lots of information about natural dyeing and weaving.

In May of this year we led our third textile tour around the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia on board the Ombak Putih. It was a great success with more and more local weavers and dyers getting involved each time we go there.  Four of the twelve cabins are already booked for next year’s tour and I’m attaching a mailer which gives more details in case this is of interest to your members. Here is a blog about the tour by a guest from Calgary, Catherine Mortensen.

I am unable to forward the document that Sue sent via Mailchimp.  If you are interested, let me know and I can email it to you directly.
'Til next time,
