Welcome to the West Alabama Fiber Guild Newsletter
Free Llama Fleece on Sunday!
Next meeting: Sunday, September 20, 2015, 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Location: 1000 28th Avenue, Tuscaloosa
Topic: Llama Share Meeting **Note the earlier start time.**
Details from Tori on the Llama share:
Recently Deanna made
contact with a lady who raised show llamas and gave her a great amount
of fleece. Carol has seen the fleece, and she and Deanna are planning a
llama share.
The fleeces range in age from 1 to 15 years old and high to poor
quality. Everyone interested in the fleece will draw a number and be
given the opportunity to choose a bag of fleece depending on what number
is drawn. We will do this until all the fleece has been claimed. Contact Carol if you have any questions.

Upcoming workshop:
Lucet cord making, led by Lynn Higginbotham, October 4, 2015
Supplies needed:
- Lucet (available locally at Hobby Lobby - don't forget your 40% off coupon).
- A firm, smooth yarn that will slide easily, anything from fingering
to worsted weight, any color. Variegated is fine. 100% cotton, such as
dishcloth cotton, is good.
For more information, please contact Lynn.
If you don't have a lucet, a fork with the middle tines bent or removed can also be used.
