Welcome to the West Alabama Fiber Guild Newsletter

Next Event:  Kentuck Festival of the Arts, Sat & Sun, Oct 15 & 16, 2016
Setup: Fri, Oct 14, 2:00 pm (Later if it is raining.)

We will have two to three tents this year.  Planned demonstrations include bobbin lace, weaving, spinning, wool combing, hand spindling, knitting, lucet cord making, tatting, tablet weaving, and tapestry weaving.

Our Festival location has changed from past years. We are now located in the center of the park at CCN1/CCN2. Here is a map provided by Candice.

You can pick up your Artist Assistant pass Friday afternoon from Carol, during Setup.  Or
call Candice Wharton when you arrive at the gate on Sat or Sun (mobile 205-765-9910).
Candice will be at the Information booth.  If you can't reach Candice, call Carol T. at 205-
454-5376.

If you have not already paid for an Artist Assistant pass, you can call Candice up until 5:00 pm on Friday, Oct 14, to get one for $5.00.  After that time, you will need to pay full price at the gate.  Either way, you are welcome to join us at the guild tent.

For Setup on Friday, bring tables, chairs, and any other items that you wish to leave at the tent and use over the weekend.  Monica requests that anyone who brings a table to display items for sale also brings a black sheet or tablecloth.  The black cloth will set off your items and give our booth a unified look.

Carol went to the Northport City Hall and paid for our business license, which is required
this year for anyone wishing to sell items at Kentuck.  So our paperwork is all done. :)

We have a message forwarded from Exa Skinner, Program Manager, Kentuck Art Center
205-758-1257, eskinner@kentuck.org
Please also read the Kentuck Exhibitor Rules (pdf) (which is the attachment mentioned below).

Greetings, Artists!

Only one week away until we greet the most incredible artists to Kentuck! Congratulations

Included is an attachment of information about exhibitor rules that also include tips on
check-in, artists' party, booth sitters, artists' hospitality tent, check-out, etc.

We are also having a new collaborative event for the festival artists only, that we hope you
will enjoy. Follow this link to check out the art car project going on this year at the
